Reducing Flanges

Cromwell Distribution is a Dominant and Expert Stockist of high quality ASME/ANSI/DIN industrial Reducing flanges . We offer immediate delivery programs for standard size of carbon steel Reducing flanges and stainless steel Reducing flanges. Reducing Reducing flanges in special stainless steel grades, nickel alloy and alloy steel can be supplied with just in time programs.

Commonly referred as blanking flanges, Reducing pipe flanges are widely used in high pressure applications. Reducing flanges are generally used to seal the end of a piping system to prevent flow of liquids or gases. The use of Reducing flanges allows ease of access to a piping system once it has been closed.

Our Reducing flanges are available with raised or RTJ faces and also with female threads. Reducing flanges can be supplied with or without hub as per the customer requirements. We offer Reducing Reducing flanges at our facility to companies in various industries including shipbuilding, power generation, petrochemical plants, oil refineries, waste water treatment plants, paper mills, pharmaceutical plants and turnkey projects among others.

What is Reducing Flange ?

Reducing flange are a specialty flange that is most often used on projects that require the fitting together of different sized pipes.

There are several types of reducing flanges including weld-neck reducing flanges, slip-on reducing flanges and threaded reducing flanges.

Reducing flanges can be grouped into 3 main configurations– Type 1, 2 & 3.

  • A type 1 reducing flange – where the reduction in bores is quite small the bolt holes have to be staggered on / off centres so that they don’t clash.
  • A type 2 reducing flange – Where the reduction is not so great and the periphery of the smaller bore mating flange would impinge on the nuts then these type of flanges are employed with threaded bolt holes negating the use of nuts.
  • A type 3 reducing flange – flanges have through holes for the large bore bolts and are used where there is a significant reduction in bores.
